Artist Statement:
Beautiful Surrender II is a meditation on the grace that emerges when we release what can no longer be held. Inspired by the twisting forms of a tulip in its final stages of bloom, the painting focuses on the flower’s quiet dignity: its ability to remain vibrant, expressive, and alive even as it transforms. Layers of luminous yellow, softened by hints of blue and red, create a sense of warmth, balance, and enduring presence. What might become possible if you allowed grace to replace control?
Finished with a hand-applied archival varnish that imparts a rich, oil-like depth and a quiet, luminous sheen.
