Artist Statement:
Interference explores the unexpected harmony that emerges when opposing forces meet. Inspired by lilies observed from multiple perspectives (including ultraviolet images that reveal hidden patterns beyond ordinary sight) the painting balances structure and spontaneity, contraction and expansion, certainty and change. What first appears as tension gradually resolves into a richer, more dynamic sense of balance. When different forces or perspectives meet, do you experience them as conflict or as possibility?
Finished with a hand-applied archival varnish that imparts a rich, oil-like depth and a quiet, luminous sheen.
